Are the costumes in dramas part of hanfu?

I’m confused, the costumes in chinese dramas are so similar to hanfu, but I often see discussions about whether it is hanfu or not?

I’m sure there are a lot of people who like hanfu because of the costumes in the drama, but strictly speaking, these types of costumes aren’t exactly hanfu, it’s more of a lot of changes made to fit the drama.

It seems there is still a lot to learn, but it’s a long process. And, I don’t think this will be an easy task for many newcomers. Splitting the two types of clothing is not a good thing, in my personal opinion.

Personally, I think the costumes in Joy of Life are very nice and I like them very much. But its sequel has not yet been announced😭😭😭
