Hello, I’m Hejiao(鹤娇). I focus on Sui, Tang, and Song Dynasty fashion and study historical fashion in Western culture from the Renaissance to Edwardian Period. I also love learning about Chinese culture, history, and language(I speak Mainland Mandarin a little).

I did learn embroidery is supposedly from China, so maybe some of the stitches can be used on hanfu. If you want to, you could do research about historical stitches used for hanfu; that could help. I wish I could see the main source; then I could know what stitches they used for their crafts.

Two years ago, I drew for the Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as the “Moon Festival”). I thought it would be nice to add a modern version of ruqun where the top was shown, and the skirt was a narrow skirt silhouette. It’s also my favorite holiday because I can eat mooncakes!

New Year, New Goals

I haven’t been good at keeping updates because school is so busy, but this year, I drew a Chinese New Year card to celebrate the New Year 2024. The fish symbolizes prosperity while the flowers are lotus flowers, which in Buddhism, symbolize spiritual peace and purity, which is what the New Year and Spring should bring. Even though it’s 4months late, Happy New Year, and wish you all a prosperous new year! 新年快乐！
My goals this year:
-Graduate
-prepare travel back to my home country(中国) to walk down memory lane(I was very young when I left)
-Make a full 唐朝汉服 and 宋朝汉服 in a year
