Hello everyone! I’m Bea, and I’m new here! I was wondering if there are any events or places in the USA where wearing hanfu would be appropriate/suitable, as I currently have 2 hanfu sets but no idea how/where to wear it. Thank you!

I have started wearing hanfu at home to practice how to tie the sash. My favorite is the qixiong dress. It is very comfortable made of double layers of faux silk. Light and airy for summer. Although it is black, not quite a summery color

What are some suitable hanfu hairstyles for thin and barely shoulder length hair? My hair is layered, and I’ve been struggling to make it look nice 😅 . Maybe I should wait until it’s a little longer… Any thoughts?

Good question… you can use multiple hairpieces and wrap your real hair on them. Then, you can use other hair extensions.

Tang style qiyao
I have many favorites, so deciding which of them to highlight was difficult (I’m very indecisive 😅). But! A style I really like recently is Tang Dynasty style qiyao ruqun. I love the details and casual but elegant look.

Song dynasty jiaoling changshan~ I’ve seen this set actually, if you come across on Taobao or somewhere else I can definitely recommend the shop that makes it, the fabric is always really beautiful and comfortable!

Jiaoling changshan / zhiduo are usually seen in men’s Song dynasty wear which is why it isn’t as familiar, and it isn’t as mainstream as some of the other Song dynasty outfits. Here it’s two layers of the changshan, a waist ribbon/belt and I think a pair of Songku hedang pants.
